One Year Cancerversary
Team Summer converged upon Summer’s Southie apartment to celebrate her 1 year “cancerversary” which Summer decided was going to be on the day she was admitted (versus her last day of treatment or NED). We had a fantastic evening with lots of laughs - probably therapeutic to be able to tell stories NOW, with Summer being so healthy. Summer wanted a “Frankenstein cake” to celebrate, so that’s exactly what we made. Celebrating 1 year with Summer’s friends at her apartment

ReplyDeleteThe chaos of West Beach was much the same yesterday as those July 4th celebrations you attended when you were little. The DJ, snack bar, races and very good fireworks show. Bob and I steered clear but Christine, Keegan and Lia came and went. Do you remember how you and Christine would climb out on the rocks and look for crabs? You two were cool, brave. Everyone thought that you were twins. Two peas for sure.
There will be other Independence Days ahead, kiddo. Ones more worthy of their name and celebration. We’ll set our sights on those.
