A Normal Summer Sunday (Day 17 Cycle 4)

Schedule of the Day:

  • Cape Cod/Onset activities for Summer, Laura, Colby & Derek
  • Gunstock/Laconia/Kingston fun for Bob & Kim

Summer seems to be feeling much better & finally getting a chance to enjoy the incredible summer weather.  She spent the morning with Colby & Mimi on the Cape while Laura and Derek enjoyed a nice walk along the canal.

Derek & Laura out for a walk along the Cape Cod canal.

They then all swung by Onset to visit with Carolyn and Dave.  While there, they payed a visit to the Quahog Republic which was where we were able to set up a FaceTime call with Uncle Ron & Deah (where Bob & Kim had been spending the day).  Summer looked amazing (hopefully I’ll be able to update with a picture in her white one shoulder dress!). She was in good spirits, relaying how she was feeling & their activities of cycle 4.  Ron & Deah loved seeing & talking to her - it’s so relieving for those who love Summer, wanting to visit when they finally get to talk in person, so to speak - they/we all loved the call.

Bob & Kim had stopped by Ron & Deah’s on their way home from Gunstock.  They live in a beautiful home in a gated community on Paugus Bay of Lake Winnipesaukee.  We got to tour the property on their shiny red golf cart -even Tucker got to join the tour, sitting on the back with Kim & Deah.  It’s a good thing Bob brought his golf cart license.

They put out a delicious charcuterie board for our visit - It was so wonderful spending time together and catching up.  They both look incredible! …It was hard to leave.

Bob and Kim wrapped up their New Hampshire adventure stopping by Kingston en route home to visit with some  amazing friends.  It was a wonderful way to wrap up the long weekend (I guess every weekend can be a long weekend when you’re “retired” - haha!).

All in all, a great weekend had by all.  Summer is coming out of this latest mucositis crap and entering into her last few days in cycle 4 strong.  Here’s hoping for more NORMAL days ahead as we prepare for cycle 5 on Friday.

GOOD NIGHT!

  1. Wow, Team Summer is scattered to all points of the globe almost and still managed to stay in contact and support one another. It’s great news that Summer is finishing Cycle 4 in great spirits, her sore throat abated a bit and is enjoying herself. R&B
