Monday Chemo Day 4 at Home (Day 4 Cycle 4)

 Schedule:

  • Summer - chemo infusion day 4 at home
  • 9am:  Kim NOT on Zoom & Derek off to work
  • 9:30am: Colby football camp
  • Dinner BJ’s Brewhouse

Good morning!  Kim floats on the lake as the sun comes up on Monday morning.

It was an overcast & rainy day today, but Kim & Bob got out on the lake bright & early to capture this fun retirement picture for Kim to share with her colleagues at what would normally be her 9am Senior Staff check in.

Tucker wanted in on the action & jumped in after Kim.

We had to navigate around Tucker because we were sure his nails would definitely pop the raft as he wanted to hang out with Kim. FUN morning out cruising & not working - no rafts popped & so glad to get a few pictures before the rain!

🐸 I think we all watched the Froggy video from last night … like 100 times.  It is sooo hysterical - we can’t stop laughing! The “escape” screen shot is now our Team Summer group chat image.  Kim posted it to YouTubr -here’s the link if you want to another chuckle.  Sorry again in advance for our numerous Fbombs- FROGGY 🐸

Unfortunately, Summer wasn’t feeling well at all today & stayed resting, reading her book. She just finished rereading one of her favorites and on to this new title.

Bob & Kim try out the My Express Checkout app at the Big Y.

Laura, Derek & Colby did a little sneaker shopping tonight & stopped at BJ Brewhouse for some pizza (50% off on Mondays!) & to visit with a friend. To our delight, they  brought home some delicious desserts - monkey bread, ice cream & a giant hot chocolate chip cookie 🍪 that we all enjoyed before bed.

Tomorrow Laura takes Summer into Dana Farber for her last chemo infusion for cycle 4 and to get UNPLUGGED!
A rainbow Laura, Colby & Derek captured while out shopping.
Bob looks for rainbows while Summer snuggles up on the couch reading.

A beautiful night on Lake Archer
Good night!

  1. Colby’s shifting gears or adding more gears with football camp. Very busy fella.
Kim is quickly adapting to a life of leisure. Derek remains the only bread winner and can’t slough off like the rest. Seems that he, Summer and Coby are now the only ones with a rigorous daily schedule unless you count floating a tube.
If anyone is counting, Summer is nearly 2/3 the way through her chemotherapy. Whew! More in the rear view than ahead—a plus plus. Pops

    1. Hey Pops! We love that we are 2/3 done! And Colby Is definitely one of the most active kids we know!! A super star.

I’m not sure I’ve yet adapted to a life of leisure, but I’m not missing work, that’s for sure! Haha! ~Kim Hofeldt
