Sunday Lake Day (Day 11 Cycle 2)

Another great & “normal” day for Summer!

Today we are at a point in Summer’s chemo cycle where her white blood cells are at their lowest.  This means that we have to be super careful if we go out (so we stayed home!) but also makes her mouth and tongue feel “funny”. She described the sensation like that of having eaten too much pineapple. Not fun. But of the symptoms she has endured, this is not too bad (easy for us to say). She actually thinks the cold sores she thought she was getting in her mouth last night are not cold sores, but instead a result of her low white blood cell count. Tomorrow she will get bloodwork done which should confirm her white blood numbers. This will last a few more days before they bounce back right before her birthday on Thursday - just in time to celebrate.

Today is 95 degrees and extremely HOT.  Summer is having a GREAT DAY & feeling good. Despite the heat, we surprisingly spent much of the day outside.  Summer hates that she cannot go swimming.  We tried the next best thing- we set up an umbrella in the water so Summer & Kim could get their feet wet with shade while the dogs (Tucker, Kody & Dilly) swam. We have yet to outlast Tucker’s fetching endurance.

Summer also consulted with her Dad on the electrical in the van, adding more lighting to the Lazy D. The snowboard light is extremely cool. The whole project is coming along amazingly.

Colby had 2 baseball games in this insane heat and won both of them. I don’t know how they all didn’t melt.

We ended the day all together with a couple boat rides around the lake, some delicious jambalaya & late night stories about Feck (final final final).  I love Team Summer!

Wow, wonderful day yesterday and fun filled despite the scorching heat—way to stay coo and be cooll. You know how to make it interesting. Thanks for the updates. Pops
