Wednesday Update (Day 9 Cycle 1)

Today is Summer’s third full day at home and all is going really well under the circumstances. She’s figured out her meds (it’s like a mini-pharmacy!) and how to clean out her PICC line daily. Rest and recovery is the name of the game now - we are on day 9 of cycle 1 (There are 21 days in each cycle w/ 6 cycles.) Summer will be out of work until May 20th.

She goes in for blood work twice a week, has a visiting nurse, and meets with her oncologist again on Friday.  There is so much to digest and understand.  She is immune-compromised so she’s not taking visitors at this time.

Bob & I are hanging in there - clearly focused on Summer’s care.  Lazy D (our van) has relocated to Wrentham- yes, we are living in a van down by the river, I mean the lake,  staying with Laura & Derek (Summer’s mom & stepdad) so Team Summer can be all together during this time.

Summer is a super hero!!  I’m so insanely impressed with her poise, strength & positive attitude!!  Everyone’s love & support is felt and so appreciated. Thank you for everything.
