Friday Update (Day 4)
This morning the doctors said that Summer might be discharged as early as Sunday afternoon after her chemo treatment. WOOT WOOT! The fact that we are even now starting to talk about Summer getting out of the hospital is such amazing news!
Summer’s mood soared when she heard she might be going home soon - honestly that news put us all in a great mood!
Summer also took at walk around the floor for the first time today (yeah!), surprising her dad at the microwave. It was a great milestone, albeit an emotional one - made Summer realize that the road to full recovery is going to be challenging.
So Day 4 is another strong day & we’ll all keep our fingers crossed for a Sunday discharge!
She broke down after walking around and the realization that this is going to be a tough summer & she’s not in the same place she was. It was healthy to mourn. She was sobbing.
And she/talked it through and got to a great place - spent the last couple hours joking and playing a game. Then she kicked us out so we’d be out of there a few minutes BEFORE 8pm because she wanted to watch the season finale of RuPaul drag race (or something like that).
